There are many things in our lives that can make us feel anxious or unwell, whether it’s the everyday pressures of job and commitments, challenging and uncertain times or the loss of a loved one. And sometimes, we might not feel like ourselves without knowing why.
I offer a warm and sensitive approach that sees each client at the heart of the work. Although my background is informed by psychodynamic theory, I do not have just one way of working. My focus will be on the relationship we develop in the room and how previous relationships have shaped and affected you. I believe that by helping you feel curious about yourself and by offering you a safe space to talk, you will find your own tools to grow and change.
I also like to work creatively – by utilising music, art, writing and dreams – as it will offer you different ways to express yourself when talking is too difficult or just not the right way to make yourself heard.
I offer counselling for the following issues: depression, bereavement and loss, phobias, self esteem issues, stress, relationship issues, issues around difference and diversity, cultural issues and work related issues. Through my voluntary work for 3rd Age Counselling and LGBT Switchboard, I have also acquired specialised experience in working with issues around ageing, retirement and isolation, as well as gender identity and sexuality. And as a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I like to especially extend a warm and safe environment for other members of the community.
